I am writing today to provide an update on negotiations for your new Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA).

We have completed another week of bargaining during which we received the Union’s proposal for Article 3 – Compensation. This is an important step as it is essential to completing a new JCBA for you.

We will now carefully evaluate this proposal, including how it ties in with other sections of the JCBA, and ensure that it is right-sized for a company of our scale and scope. Based on our initial review, it appears the Union’s proposal features rates and provisions that are outside of our competitive environment, and are also greater than much larger airlines with very different revenue streams and business models than ours.  

We know that you want to establish, grow and sustain your pilot careers with a successful, thriving company.  For all of us to succeed together, we need to complete a contract that recognizes our valued pilots, while at the same time provides a competitive edge for our growing company in the marketplace.  We believe we can achieve a JCBA that balances all interests.

We are committed to a timely completion of the contract, and know there is a path to complete bargaining well before the February 15, 2021 deadline. If an agreement is not reached by then, an arbitrated solution will ensure that we deliver the updated contract that is deserved for our pilots. 

Our next Crew Town Hall is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26 at 10 a.m.  Our Executive Team will be on hand, as always, to answer your questions. We hope you are able to join us and if you aren’t, a replay will be available.
