To:  All Atlas Air and Southern Air Pilots

From:  Jeff Carlson, Senior Vice President, Flight Operations

We are pleased to reach the final step of completing a new joint collective bargaining agreement (JCBA) contract for our Atlas Air and Southern Air pilots.  This new contract will provide the increased pay and enhanced benefits that our pilots deserve. Tomorrow, we will begin our formal arbitration hearing before an experienced arbitrator who was jointly selected by the Company and Union. The hearings are scheduled to go through March 31.

As we previously noted, over the course of negotiations between the Company and union leaders, we were able to reach Tentative Agreements (TAs) on a significant portion of the contract. The arbitration will resolve all remaining issues and allow us to move forward with a final agreement.

Following the two weeks of hearings, the arbitrator is expected to request post-hearing briefs from both the Company and union leaders to summarize our respective positions. Following the submission of the post-hearing briefs, the arbitrator, along with the Company and the union leaders, have committed to moving forward as soon as reasonably possible.

We look forward to the prospect of securing a new JCBA that provides our pilots with a competitive compensation and benefits package, while positioning the Company for continued growth.

We will continue to bring you updates, and invite you to email us at Corpcommunications@atlasair.com if you have any questions.  It is important for us to hear what is on your mind so that we can address any questions at our next Town Hall, currently planned on April 21, and in other communications forums.

Thank you.
